Edward Mace, Head of Systems Engineering at Smart DCC and Kurran Bharaj, Architecture Consultant at Edifit
Learn how Smart DCC is using Bizzdesign to enable a Systems Engineering approach with regards to an agreed framework ensuring consistency throughout delivery. In addition, Edward and Kurran will share how the use of Bizzdesign has allowed for full end-to-end traceability demonstrating legal compliance.
Ian Anderson, Enterprise Architect at Ellucian
Ellucian, one the world’s largest business solution suppliers to universities, recognized that that the sector was changing and as a supporting vendor needed a fresh approach to supporting new and existing clients in an increasingly competitive marketplace.
Part of this approach was the development of enterprise architecture (EA) based client facing services to help the sector identify both the shape and impact of this necessary transformation. Ian Anderson will talk about how this approach was shaped by the sector’s requirements and outline how Ellucian created EA services and artifacts to match the need.
Sheila Dale, Business Architect, Ministry of Defence (MOD) - Defence Infrastructure Organisation), Eddie Walker, Director at Edifit
MOD DIO had a mission: to regain control of their model repository, and to unleash its potential to support strategic decision making. In this session, we will follow their approach, beginning with improved data quality through modelling standards, guidance to help modellers get it 'right first time', and the establishment of review procedures to ensure compliance. We will then explore automation, like dynamic view creation, to show how brilliant basics help to unlock model value.
Dean Johnstone, Solutions Architect at Beazley
In this session, Dean will share an overview of Beazley’s journey of navigating enterprise architecture transformation using Bizzdesign. He will discuss the high-level experiences and key learns that he faced along the journey including:
• Adoption of the Bizzdesign tool, relevant internal training and standardization
• Integrations to Bizzdesign and how it’s helped to reinforce the importance of maintaining a high quality CMDB
• Key learns and a glimpse of what’s next for Beazley in the future

Top 3 Takeaways: How to get the most from your enterprise architecture
Cameron Spence, Enterprise Architect & Modelling Lead
In this session, Cameron will share his top 3 practical insights on how the architecture team at Thames Water is getting the best from the Bizzdesign platform. This includes a glimpse of their grand plan for how they ensure their architecture models are properly joined up, and that as projects go through the project lifecycle, they end up building their part of the ‘big picture’ that tells them what they’ve got, why, and what will happen to it; this is really important for strategic planning as well as impact analysis.
• Effective use of interconnected models using multiple open standard modeling languages
• Enterprise architecture models supporting the project lifecycle for strategic planning and impact analysis
• Improving the accessibility of enterprise architecture information for all stakeholders and accelerating project starts
